Information Note: Winterising the pools / Indoor pools with ventilation
Indoor pools should keep the air heating system working through out the winter to prevent condensation damage. The air should be kept at a temperature that prevents condensation. This point is dependant on the outside air temperature and the difference between it and the pool hall air temperature and the moisture content of the air in the pool hall. Allow the pool water temperature to drop to 12 15o C and let the air temperature drop in line with it to about the same level. If the pool cover is sufficient and these temperature s are maintained +/- a degree or two then damage to the pool hall structure and the fabric of the building will be limited.
During the winter the pool equipment such as automatic dosing probes and delicate equipment should be stored safely if not in use.
Winter is the time to carry out any repairs and servicing to pumps , motors , heating and ventilation equipment try not to wait until two weeks before the pool is due to open next season. All that will do is force you to rush work and issue contract to the first company that is available not the best for the job.
