If no circulation is to be attempted during the winter months , drain the filter, heating equipment and pipework. Clean and lubricate all exposed metals to protect them from condensation enhanced corrosion.. It may well also be wise to disconnect the pumps and remove to a warm dry storage area.
Alternatively apply moisture repellent spay to all electrical equipment. Some pool managers find that using a heat source, (electric fire or calor gas heater) in the plant room over winter is a good method of preventing corrosion and condensation. Switch off electricity at the mains.
Check the pool once per week at least. If the weather is very cold it is worth circulating the water and heating the pool to 1oC. This will ensure ice is not formed and will prevent unsightly tile damage.
